20xx年上半年全國大學英語四六級考試將於6月18日舉行。為維護考試的公平公正，端正我校考風學風，杜絕各類考試違紀作弊，特向我校全體考生髮出誠信考試倡議：
一、嚴格履行誠信考試承諾，自覺遵守考試紀律，保持良好考試心態，排除外界各種因素干擾，端正考試態度，真正做到誠信應考。
二、誠信應考從自我做起，自覺抵制各類考試違紀作弊行為，同學之間要互相督促，學生黨員和學生幹部要帶頭做出表率，營造誠信考風。
三、尊重監考教師和工作人員，服從考試組織和管理，攜帶規定的考試用具，自覺紮起長頭髮，主動出示考試相關證件("兩證齊全"，即：準考生和身份證或學生證)，珍惜考試機會。
四、考試實行"多題多卷"，考試正式開始之前考生務必將試題冊封底的條形碼揭下貼上在答題卡1的條形碼貼上框內，並在試題冊封底指定位置填寫姓名和准考證號，未貼上條形碼者，考試成績按"0"分計，後果由考生本人承擔。
五、禁止將手機、無線耳機等通訊工具帶入考場。對於違反考風考紀的學生，學校堅決依照校紀校規嚴肅處理。
六、請廣大考生務必嚴格遵守考試紀律，自覺抵制作弊行為，考場內服從考試工作人員管理，保持良好考試秩序，勇於檢舉和揭發各種考試違紀作弊行為。

A Polluted Environment
Dear schoolmates,
Environmental pollution is a serious social problem. It poses a terrible threat to men's health.
The atmosphere is filthy. The air is thick with dust and burnt oil. Dark smokes are being emitted from chimneys, and choking fumes are being released from numerous vehicles. Stay a little while in a big city, then wipe your forehead with your handkerchief, it is black. Hang out your washing on the line to dry, you will have to wash again. Garbage is left to accumulate in unsanitary heaps that attract flies and give off bad smell. Nor is the pollution confined to air and land. Large quantity of sewage and chemical waste are dumped daily into rivers, lakes and the sea, which kills millions of fish. Noises coming from honking cars, rumbling machines and broadcasting loudspeakers may make a person nervous and irritable, even drive him crazy.
Environmental pollution is responsible for many diseases that are disabling, or bringing death to human beings.

各位老師們：
大家辛苦了！
自x年9月廣東、山東、海南、寧夏四省開始普通高中新課程實驗以來的五年後的今天，新的課程改革猶如一股沁人心扉的春風向湖北中學教育界迎面撲來。
這次實驗是我國建國後的第八次基礎教育課程改革，這次改革，步伐之大，速度之快，難度之大，都是前七次改革所不可比擬的。它將實現我國中國小課程從學科本位、知識本位向關注每一個學生髮展的歷史性轉變。目前，我們全市高一教師們正以飽滿的熱忱學習新課改理論，準備迎接新課程改革的挑戰。
通過幾天的暑期集中學習，老師們逐步瞭解並接受了一系列新的課程改革理論，認識到了傳統的教學模式存在諸多弊端，意識到新課程改革最關鍵的是實現教師教學方式的轉變和學生學習方式的轉變。然而，老師們普遍感到困難的是如何將新的課改理念轉化為教師的課堂教學行為以及學生的高效學習方式。
藉此暑期集中學習的東風，我倡議全市高中英語教師開展如何踐行新課改理念，迎接新課程改革的挑戰，提高全市高中英語教學質量的大討論。
討論圍繞以下4個子問題展開：
1、如何搞好初高中銜接？
2、如何面向全體學生，實現學生共同發展？
3、如何培養學生自主學習能力？
4、如何優化課堂教學結構，提高課堂教學效率？
針對上述問題，我提出個人幾點不成熟的意見，起一個拋磚引玉的作用，供大家討論參考。
一、如何搞好初高中銜接？
1、開展學情分析，搞好兩個“摸清”，即：摸清學生知識底細，摸清學生學習態度和學習方法底細，便於開展針對性的教學工作。
2、開展學習方法的系列講座和優生經驗介紹，讓學生弄清高中英語教學特點和要求，認清高中與國中老師教學方式上的差異，以及學生學習方法上的不同，培養學生從高一開始就學會自己查閱詞典、參考書，養成獨立學習、自主學習的好習慣。教師要對學生的聽、說、讀、寫、查等良好習慣的培養自始至終地貫穿於整個高一年級的教學中，要常督促、定期檢查，從而使學生養成良好的學習習慣。應利用開學後大約一個月的時間，讓學生熟悉並掌握一系列好的學習方法，形成一套符合每個學生的學習方法體系。
3、作為高中英語教師，要了解國中英語的教材教法。在學生剛剛步入高中的初期，教學起點宜“低一點”，課堂教學的`難度不要過大，不要使課堂教學發生突變，造成學生不適應。對課堂教學方式的轉變，要一步步地改變、慢慢地引導，讓學生在不知不覺中適應高中英語教學。在課後要抓好單詞的鞏固和檢查，對作業要做適量的補充，並有佈置、有檢查，對學生要嚴格要求，有針對性地查漏補缺，逐步地過渡到學生自立自主的學習方式。
4、在分析研究的基礎上，幫助學生對國中知識進行整理，並開展有針對性的查漏補缺。可利用開學前大約兩週的時間，對國中課程中出現的語法現象進行歸納總結，對國中課程尚未學完的詞彙進行有計劃的學習，確保每個學生在進入高中的起始階段建立完備的知識體系。

A bus could be 45 feet long, but some whales are about 100 feet long. Recently, the number of whales on the world is decreasing signally. We have the Protect them as one of our duties, for a better world.

Animals are natural resources that people have wasted all through our history. Animals have been killed for their fur and feathers, for food, for sport, and simply because they were in the way. Thousands of kinds of animals have disappeared from the earth forever. Hundreds more are on the danger list today. About 170 kinds in the United States aloneare considered in danger.
Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any als are more than just beautiful or interesting. They are more than just a source of food. Every animal has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying one kind of animal can create many problems. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Because hawks eat rats and mice, with no hawks to keep down their numbers, the rats and mice multiplied quickly.
Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. Quite a few countries have passed laws. These laws forbid the killing of any animal or planton the danger list. Slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.
