Once upon a time, there was a sad elephant. He was dirty and stinky, because he could not reach to wash his back. All the other animals didn’t play with him because he was smelly.
Elephant sat under a tree, where nobody could see him. He started to cry. His head was hanging down, crying big tears. He sat and cried for days. One day, when his tears had dried up, he went to itch his head and he felt a bump on his back. Then he noticed his nose had stretched because it had got wet with all the crying and it was now a long trunk which had hit him on his back.
He went to the river and got his trunk, put it in the water and sucked the water up. Then he sprayed his back with water.
All the other animals came over to him and said “you are so clean and smell so lovely. Do you want to play with us?”
The elephant was so happy and said “yes.”

I will talk about sports. I am a lovely boy. I like many kinds of sports, such as walking, running, swimming, climbing, cycling and skipping. Sports give me a good health and bring me a lot of fun.
Now, I will tell you about my cycling sport. I often ride my bike when I am free. I like to ride my bike on a road. There are no cars and few people on the road. It is not very long. It is very good for cycling. When I ride down the slope, the bike runs very fast, and I feel like flying. It’s very good for me. Cycling gives me a lot of fun. Everyone has hobbies. My mother likes watching TV. My father likes chess. Many of my schoolmates like playing football. So what are my hobbies? Now let me tell you about my hobbies.
I have many hobbies, such as sports, singing, playing the computer games and reading books, but learningEnglish is my favourite.
Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons.
On the weekend, I often go to the English corner. By talking with different people there, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English.
I hope I can travel around the world some day. I want to go to America to visit Washington Monument, I also want to go to London, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy.
I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. I'll introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Dongying.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after hard study, one day I can speak English very well.

尊敬的各位家長：
下午好!
我是五(3)班的英語老師，首先歡迎各位家長的到來。藉此機會，我想應該給各位家長談一下孩子們在這一個學期學習英語的情況。開學初，本班學生在英語學習中缺乏積極性，自覺性差，凡事都要不停地反覆的督促。佈置的任務不能及時的完成。而五年級的英語教材相較三、四年級，又有所變化，起初孩子們沒有找好學習的切入點，所以我們在座有些家長就反映孩子的英語成績較之前有所下降。一學期下來了，在強化課堂教學，抓好課堂效益上，我結合教材和學生的多方面情況，做了以下一些工作：
1、五年級英語在聽、說、讀、寫方面的要求更加重要，我們儘量在課堂上幫助學生掌握知識，開展活動，讓他們在不知不覺中張口說英語。比如我們班莊園，王輝，錢勇，曹旭成，王聲康，許雅文等同學，每節課的知識和作業都能當堂掌握和完成。
2、興趣是最好的老師。英語課中多是一些情景對話，我們常常設定一個情境，讓學生進入其中，以表演的形式學習新知，樂在其中。如李傑，葛宇，逗號，潘建如，李浪，張朋順，周揚名，吳家佩，花尉揩，沈培歡等同學，經常表演和惟妙惟肖，讓人忍俊不禁的同時，其他同學也加深了對課文的理解。
3、孩子們都是要強的，我們舉行各式各樣的比賽，讓他們自發地要求進步。最近我們開展一對一的擂臺賽。孩子們學習的積極性高漲。如張峰瑋與莊園同學之間，楊冬煦和潘康同學之間，你追我趕，共同進步。
我們也進行了一些簡單的測試，有很多同學較開學初都有很大的進步。尤其是張影，張自豪，劉俊傑，李傑，鮑勝凡，潘國光，呂文豪等同學。我們班同學，優秀的學生不僅成績好，在英語表達能力上也有提高，學習有困難的學生也不氣餒，一直在努力地向前衝。學習英語是為了以後能與人用英語交流，平時有積累，最後就能收穫成功。讓我們一起為孩子們營造一個開心快樂的學習氛圍，真正讓孩子們相對學的輕鬆，紮實，有效。
