It was New Year's night. An aged man was standing at a window. He raisedhis mournful eyes towards the deep blue sky, where the stars were floating likewhite lilies on the surface of a clear calm lake. When he cast them on theearth, where few more hopeless people than himself now moved towards theircertain goal—the tomb. He had already passed sixty of the stages leading to it,and he had brought from his journey nothing but errors and remorse. Now hishealth was poor, his mind vacant, his heart sorrowful, and his old age short ofcomforts.

The days of his youth appeared like dreams before him, and he recalled theserious moment when his father placed him at the entrance of the two roads--oneleading to a peaceful, sunny place, covered with flowers, fruits and resoundingwith soft, sweet songs;the other leading to a deep , dark cave, which wasendless, where poison flowed instead of water and where devils and poisonoussnakes hissed and crawled.

He looked towards the sky and cried painfully," O, youth, return! O, myfather, place me once more at the entrance to life, and I'll choose the betterway!" But both his father and the days of his youth had passed away.

He saw the lights flowing away in the darkness. These were the days of hiswasted life;he saw a star fall from the sky and disappeared, and this was thesymbol of himself. His remorse, which was like a sharp arrow, struck deeply intohis heart. Then he remembered his friends in his childhood, who entered lifetogether with him. But they had made their way to success and were now honoredand happy on this New Year's night.

The clock in the high church tower struck and the sound made him rememberhis parents' early love for him. They had taught him and prayed to God for hisgood. But he chose the wrong way. With shame and grief he dared no longer tolook towards the heaven where his father lived. His darkened eyes were full oftears, and with a despairing effort, he burst out a cry:" Come back, my earlydays! Come back!"

And his youth did return, for all this was only a dream, which he had on NewYear's night. He was still young though his faults were real; he had not yetentered the deep, dark cave, and he was still free to walk on the road whichleads to the peaceful and sunny land.

Those who still linger on the entrance of life, hesitating to choose thebright road, remember that when years are passed and your feet stumble on thedark mountains, you will cry bitterly, but in vain. "O youth, return! Oh give meback my early days!"

Hello, everybody!

in my 18 years of life, there have been many things. university days arethe best part of them. i can never forget the days when i stepped into myuniversity. i was impressed by its garden-like campus, its enthusiastic studentsand especially its learning atmosphere. i at once fell in love with it.

after the arduous military training, i get absolutely absorbed in mystudies. the classes given by the teachers are excellent. they provide us withinformation not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as i can.

frankly speaking, at first i had some difficulty following the ver, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers’ guidance, i maderemarkable progress. now i’ve benefited a lot from lectures and many otheracademic reports.

learning is a long process; i’ll keep exploring in the treasure house ofknowledge to enrich myself. this summer i got out of the ivory tower and enteredthe real world. a publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation andrevision.

at the beginning i was belittled by my colleagues. but they were reallysurprised when i translated seven english articles over 5,000 words on only oneday. gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. in their opinioni turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.

i also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be trulyhappy. so i often take part in activities concerning public welfare. i once wentto a barren mountain village with my classmates. we taught the kids there whocould not afford school. while showing them how broad and how civilized theouter world is, i was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, their honestyand their purity. i couldn’t control my tears on the day when we left. theprecious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility onthe shoulders of us, future teachers.

besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well. i dobody building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. we also write aplay and put it on in our spare time.

campus life is the most splendid time. but different people have differentchoices. the majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish thehope that one day they’ll become outstanding. but there are indeed some studentsstill under ignorance. they gather together for eating, drinking or playingcards. they’re busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. they forgetcompletely about their mission as college students and the hope of theirmotherland.

finally, i do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizenof the country. i do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation andmake great contributions to society!

Hello, everybody!

in addition to other life choices, and many give up. but a lot of life togive up in order to better choices. you this time, the face of the universityare beckoning to you, you can choose not to give up. can also say: you give up alot ……

life is not long, but many times choose, you have many choices come throughtoday. wait more than 60 days, you in turn to make a choice, but the choice isyour life is very important, very crucial choice. the choice to a large extentdirectly related to your future direction in life, whether related to the futureglory of life, and even the success of the big problems of life.

the last choice, because your young, largely by your parents or relativesto help you to make choices. then the choice of their ability to help so you cancreate conditions to help you (for example, taking your difference, they cangive you the money you read choosing health). entrance options, but this largelydepends on yourself decide the. because: first, the difficulty of the selectionbigger, some parents and relatives also lack guidance capability; second is thechoice of policy, a more equitable, they may have money, but you also can notscore enough money to help you. so many choices in this and future autonomy ofthe major is in your own hands.

select certain subjective and objective conditions. the university entranceexam already created the objective conditions of choice. for example, theuniversity has long been the face of the door here open for each student, youcan enter with their conditions. another example is that the state's admissionpolicy is not directed against an individual, but against all the candidatesthis year, has been formed, you can only prepare the conditions required bypolicy to choose. another

as if we can only face each generation has been formed as the productivityof conditions, can only be subjective on this basis up efforts to promote thedevelopment of the existing productive forces, not to complain about now havelow productivity. this year's college entrance examination, you can only havebeen formed by the face of these subjective and objective conditions to effortsto improve their academic performance. not to complain about the objectiveconditions than me.

in addition to other life choices, and many give up. but a lot of life togive up in order to better choices. you this time, the face of the universityare beckoning to you, you can choose not to give up. can also say: you give up alot in the past, that is, to this choice. example, why did not you work outsidethe home? why not stay at home farming? why seeing your parents morning toevening, busy doing farming work, and even sick exertion in the field, and youshare those concerns did not go home for their problem-solving, can you give upso they are not all for this time of choice?

both gave up so much, they chose today, why not try to choose tomorrow?beckon you do not choose to have this as another of the universities? there isthe further purification of your soul, raise your quality, and increase yoursurvivability, and improve your quality of life in the future to achieve greatervalue of life your furnace.

Hello, everybody! My name is, I come from. Today, I am very glad to standhere and share with you my most sincere speech‘Flying youth, master ourfuture!’

Life is a process of growing up. Saying goodbye to childhood, we step intoanother important time of life‘the youth’ver, who can really say what theyouth is ? A period of time? A belief? An attitude to life? Or anything else? Wedon’t know.

A famous poet said ‘ youth is a lovely song ,where nothing is impossibleyouth is a meaningful book, you’ll be never bored of it ;youth is a rapid river,it keeps on flowing day and night ;youth is a cup of tea ,it shows youdifferent kinds of tastes in your life. ’

As youth is so precious, of course, we must treasure it ’t let thelimited time pass by, leaving nothing of significance to our future. Actually, youth has a lot to do with our future. It’s necessary for us to prepareourselves well for the future to come. So, what should we do? Here ,I’ll pointout some tips to help equip ourselves

First of all, recognize the direction of your future. In other word, thinkof what you’d like to be some day. A teacher ? A doctor ? A writer? Don’t afraidof thinking big and great e you are young , you can dream of doing anythingand becoming anyone in the future .

What’s more , never ignore the power of knowledge. Read more books andtravel around. For one thing, it can increase your knowledge, for another, it’llbroaden your horizon.

Last but not the least , stick to your dream. It easier said than r all, future is not all roses. So, we should have enough courage anddetermination to overcome all the difficulties.

I firmly believe one sentence that‘If you think you can, of course youcan!’Just believe we can make it! Keep on walking towards our dream. Flyingyouth ,master our future. From today, from now on ,from Duping Middle School !Ready ? That’s all. Thank you so much for your attention !

After seeing so many movies about the youth, we are starting to wonderabout what do we have in our youth, the fight, the drink or the love? My answeris no. What we see from the movie is not true, the plots are exaggerated andmisunderstood. For students, their youth is the process of fighting. They havestudied so hard to realize their dreams. When they are in primary school, theywant to do well and make their parents be proud of them. When they are in middleschool and high school, they need to take part in the exams so as to enter thebetter future schools. Even they are in college, they still need to study andfight for the ideal job. There is no doubt that most people keep fighting fortheir future and this is the memory of youth.

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter ofrosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality ofthe imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deepsprings of life.

Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity, of theappetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow oldby deserting our ideals.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the y, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to dust.

Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game ofliving. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: solong as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from menand from the Infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows ofcynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but aslong as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you maydie young at 80.

All the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year20__, because life without a greeting is like the sky without the tingsare very important for the whole world,in my opinion.

But I don't know whether greetings are enough for cially when wemeet with failures .I remember quite clearly that when I was a child,if I falldown and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me"Please stand upfrom where you fall down!"

Yes,we must stand up from where we fall down.

That was a special mid night in ctations filled our hearts.

We stared at the TV,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to ourears.

But at last, each Chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to knowthe ,lost to Sydeny by a margin of two votes in the Olympic hostingcompetition.

Eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time atall.

Now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride anddisappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. The 21stcentury,which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. Someone said, wewould start from zero on.

Should I really start from zero on?

No!I hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed bylast century, and make our life better.

"New Beijing,Great Olympics!" The voice cries this out around China'scaptital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days.

Beijing, along with Paris,Istanbul,Osake and Toronto, has been shortlisted bythe International Olympic Committee as an official candidate city for the 20__Olympic Games.

This is Beijing's second attempt to host the games.

Everyone fully supports Beijing's bid for it.

Maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of Beijing.

Maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up.

Maybe,we can learn and speak basic English idioms and expressions for dailycommunication.

But,but are they just enough?

Facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science andtechnoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. But nobodycan deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries areconfronted with more pressure and order to become famous in theworld,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up withindustrialized nations.

Supporting Beijing's bid is a systematic project that can supportChina'sdevelopment efforts.

I believe recycled paper, clean fuel, sorted rubbish,water-saving andenery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years forChina.

I believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelongeducation has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of Chinesesociety.

I believe that,on July 13,our dream of Beijing's Olympic bid will becometrue.

Because to millions of Chinese, for China to have the gloal respect andsupport that she deserves is not just a dream.
